Schools Get New Superintendent

Our Sacramento City Unified School District Trustees have just appointed Jorge Aguilar as the new Superintendent, overseeing all the public school operations including all in Rosemont. Trustee Christina Pritchett, a long-time Rosemont resident and community leader, reports Mr. Aguilar currently serves as the Associate Superintendent for Equity and Access at Fresno Unified School District and is recognized as a state and national education leader. He brings over twenty years of K-12 and higher education experience to the district, with a strong focus and background on issues of equity and student achievement. As a result of his work, Fresno Unified saw significant improvement in student achievement. He also has a unique personal history raised in an immigrant farmworker family. We look forward to welcoming Mr. Aguilar to Rosemont and anticipate having a close working relationship with him as we strive to provide our children with the best education possible.
