Social Media Posts Can Create Problems

social media 1We’ve noticed a number of posts to Next Door and Face Book regarding problems in the area. Unfortunately these posts give no hint that the person ever reported the problem to law enforcement , leaving the reader wondering whether to report or just think that the person posting does not understand the vital importance of reporting problems to law enforcement. We urge that anyone using Next Door or Face Book to post information about serious problems or crimes FIRST make a report to the appropriate law enforcement, THEN post to social media. One recent post complained of a racing car that just went by without even naming the street; that’s the time to call the CHP, when the car is in the area and an officer might be able to react. You do no one any favors to just complain; take proper action!

Great point, Terrry. I missed the great meeting with law enforcement present but plan to get back in the mix in August. Is there anything we can do as a community to get the CHP back out here and writing tickets to the people who blatantly run or just plain ignore the stop signs in this commuinty. It’s wrong and it’s dangerous.
