At its Feb. 2 meeting, the RCA Board held an open discussion of concerns in Rosemont that were voiced in an anonymous letter. The crowd of over 40 people shared many ideas and suggestions, and most importantly indicated a general willingness to step up and help make things better here. As was noted, RCA is entirely voluntary, and the services we get from the County are necessarily less than typical municipal service levels. Most of the concerns noted are already being addressed, but there will always be new concerns arising. It is apparent that we are not communicating effectively enough all that is being done, and enough people are not aware of the constraints on RCA to force improvements. Many of the improvements sought need to be accomplished by those of us who live here, such as keeping our properties clean and attractive, and reporting crimes and suspicious behaviors and code violations. The general consensus of the crowd was that most of the improvements sought will begin with those of us who live here. RCA can help organize that work and support it, but it will take more people stepping up to do the work. Please consider what you and your family can do to help make Rosemont even better.
