The June RCA Board meeting was largely devoted to a good discussion of concerns about how to protect Rosemont when major new developments begin around us in the years ahead. Our community will be 70 – 90 years old when that development begins, and the new areas will benefit from more strict rules and higher levels of funding for amenities such as landscaping, parks and recreation programs – in addition to just being newer and more attractive. Our concern is that if we don’t plan to protect and advance Rosemont we may not be seen as an appealing community and conditions here may deteriorate. The board explored with Supervisor Nottoli, who was instrumental in convening the discussion with County officials and other involved parties, some options that might be developed. These could range from the County budgeting funds over the years ahead to make improvements here to exploring options for improving public service levels here. While we do have some time, we need to begin planning now so we are not left behind in the years ahead. If you have ideas, or want to be involved in this discussion, please join us.
