In our continuing effort to defend the interests of Rosemont residents, RCA has again written to the California Public Utilities Commission protesting the proposed rate increase filed by our water supplier, California American Water Co. CalAm regularly files for increases with what many believe is insufficient justification, and the CPUC typically consents to the increases despite many protests. This current application again proposes that another service area away from Sacramento be joined with our area with the result being that we would have higher rates to help subsidize the other area. These application cases are very complex and under present CPUC procedures and policies it seems the interests of the public are often not respected. RCA will continue to monitor this case and work on your behalf to assure that we are not paying more for water than we should be.
