Now that our trees are finally dropping leaves and the rains are coming, do yourself and all of us a big favor by clearing the street gutters in front of your house and side yards of any leaves and debris so that the rain water can freely flow into the storm drains. If leaves clog the drains, water can back up and begin flooding property, and the County has to send out a team to clear the blockage. In most cases this is a simple and quick job that all residents can do themselves, and save the cost of sending the County crew. And while you’re at it clean out your roof gutters so the rain can drain away properly and not risk causing a costly leak in your roof or walls. But if you do this job, be extremely careful up on ladders or the roof. Spending the holidays in the hospital or in a cast would not be fun.
