County Code Enforcement has advised that they will be undertaking a Neighborhood Liability Initiative in the Rosemont area in the days ahead. This means that officers will be out looking for various code violations such as illegally parked vehicles, unpermitted structures including fences, unsafe conditions, etc. – anything that is out of compliance with County codes. Hopefully you will not be caught in the inspections. If you have something you think could be a code violation you can check it by looking on the County web site HERE. While such code enforcement may seem harsh if you are cited, if we are to improve and maintain the appearance and livability of our community, we do need to have standards and they need to be enforced.
RE: Neighborhood Liability Initiative
Glad to hear the County will be coming to our neighborhood and enforcing the code. A couple questions (for anybody who may know):
1) Is this Initiative in response to outcry from the neighborhood/residents?
2) Will Code Enforcement be providing data pertaining to the quantity of violations discovered, types of violations discovered, and violations corrected in our neighborhood as a result of this Initiative?
Again, this Initiative is music to my ears. I think it is great that the county may be mirroring Rosemont homeowners’ investments in our neighborhood.
Oppose to citing homeowners for tree houses that have been in yards for over 15 years, I’d rather see code enforcement looking for trashy yards in plain site, broken down fences, vehicles parked on lawns, lawns overgrown one foot tall, broken down cars parked on the streets, major appliances in driveways for months at a time, and things that obviously bring down the values of the neighborhood.
