RCA held its 8th Annual Community Celebration on August 20th at the Rosemont Community Park and it was a huge success. Thanks to all who came out to engage in the festivities, we hope to see you at our next RCA event. A special thanks to the sponsors and the time and effort put forth by the planning committee that made this event possible.
Dozens of booths had information from products to services, including several local youth organizations and elected officials. It was a great place to talk to our public officials, and guests included Supervisor Don Nottoli; School Board Trustee Christina Pritchett; CRPD Board members Rick Sloan, Brian Danzl, Terri Leimbach, and Michael Yearwood. With us also were Assemblyman Ken Cooley and challenger Nick Blois, and Congressman Ami Bera and his challenger Scott Jones.
The entertainment featured a display of classic cars, Sidewalk CPR and a fire engine from Sacramento Metro Fire Department, the CHP and Sheriff’s Department, the Kids Club Karate, Kuk Sool Won Martial Arts demonstrations, the Rosemont High Drum Line and Cheer squads, the Rosemont Junior Wolverines Cheer Squad, and the marvelous blues band of RHS teachers. Kids enjoyed Real Magic the Magician, riding ponies and the Butterfly Express train, two bounce houses (compliments of Capital Christian Center), and several midway games. Our special thanks to the great volunteer crew from Capital Christian Center who were a vital help in getting everything set up. And, as always everyone had free hot dogs, chips, beverage, and snow cones. Of course, RCA extends its thanks to the many donors who helped make the event possible, particularly Teichert Corporation, CalAm Water, Golden Pond Retirement Community, Save Mart, Home Forward Real Estate, and SMUD.
If you were unable to make it, below is a slideshow of the festivities:
I spoke to Terry at the Park and we agree that we should setup something at the Park depending on the annual Christmas Parade Route. Several small tents at the park for hot chocolate and cookies if the parade makes a left onto Picture from Americana. It all depends on the route.
