Do you have hazardous materials around your house with no way to properly dispose of them? You know you can’t just dump them down the drain or in the garbage – that is illegal and a creates a real and expensive problem. The good news is that Sacramento County will take those materials for free, e.g. paints, solvents, pesticides, fluorescent lights, batteries, etc., for free (so long as you do not bring so much that you trigger commercial license requirements.) You can click here to see what restrictions, locations and hours are for such materials. Or, you may be able to just put out certain materials at your curbside for regular pick up on Recycling Day. Click here to learn about that free service.
But, what if you have no way to get those things to the dump – you have no vehicle, aren’t driving, are impaired, etc.? RCA may be able to help you if we can find a few volunteers willing to help out. If you can assist a neighbor to properly dispose of a little hazardous material (and we all have some around the house or yard!) let us know by emailing info@rosemontca.org and telling us how you can help. Let’s all work together to help keep Rosemont clean and safe.
