As might be expected on July 6, fireworks was a hot topic at the recent RCA Board meeting, as people vented about the excessive and loud explosions we’ve been hearing for the last week, some well after midnight. Ted Wood, Sacramento Metro Fire District board members for the Rosemont area attended to update this area on SMFD services, and heard strong expressions of concern about the illegal fireworks. Unfortunately, even reporting to the Sheriff’s office can hardly solve the problems because there are too many explosions and they can be hard to locate precisely. RCA suggested that now, before the next fireworks season, that all appropriate agencies meet to strategize how such illegal displays can be curtailed if not prevented. Suggestions are welcome.
