On August 21 Supervisor Nottoli sponsored a community discussion in Rosemont about the proposed West Jackson Highway Master Plan. This plan involves some 14,600 homes and much retail and commercial space on 5900 acres on the southern and eastern borders of Rosemont, developed over the next several decades. Todd Smith of the County planning staff explained what was proposed and fielded many questions from the 30+ people who attended. Given its potential effects on Rosemont, RCA will closely monitor this project and sponsor more discussion. Supervisor Nottoli indicated he will sponsor more such meetings as additional information comes available. This issue will also be on the agenda of the RCA Board for months to come.
