Leading off the Board’s November meeting will be an important briefing on the options available to Rosemont if it wants to strengthen its ability to protect and enhance its safety and appeal. All governmental organizational changes must be reviewed and recommended by the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), a body created by state law to study and recommend action on any proposed change in how an area is served or governed. The Executive Officer of the Sacramento LAFCO, Don Lockhart, will discuss with the RCA Board and all those who attend what our options are and what is involved in pursuing any of them. The interest in this discussion has been heightened by continuing concerns about conditions here and levels of service to address those conditions, and the potential effects of major development proposals on our border. RCA anticipates this will be the beginning of an ongoing discussion in the community as Rosemont carefully explores what can be done and what we may want to do. All in Rosemont are welcome and encouraged to join in this process. The November Board meeting will be on Thursday the second at 7:00pm at Atonement Church, 9242 Kiefer Blvd.
