At its April meeting the RCA Board was briefed by Patrick Larkin, the new District Administrator for the Cordova Recreation and Parks District, on plans for its programs and its working relations with the Rosemont community. Among other issues, he noted that they are doing more at the RHS pool since the poll at Hagen Park is being rebuilt.
Plans are on track for a Rosemont entrance sign to be installed at Bradshaw and Kiefer, hopefully the first of several welcoming people to our community. Several cleanup projects are underway to add landscaping and do painting at entry points. The RHS Essence of Rosemont, a family friendly display of student activities, will be April 21 from 5-8 pm at the campus quad. The issue of safety at the Homecoming Parade will be raised with the school. SMUD will brief RCA on its proposed rate increases at the May 4 board meeting. The future of Rosemont will be the focus of the annual RCA meeting May 9; Supervisor Nottoli will also be there along with information on many of the agencies serving Rosemont. And the board voted to submit an application for a grant from the County to do several revitalization projects; we should know by summer if we receive the funding. The next RCA Board meeting, with the SMUD rate briefing, will be May 4, at 7pm At Atonement Church.
