At its March 1 meeting the RCA Board heard a briefing by our POP officer, Dep Mike Matranga, who described recent Sheriff activity in the area; generally his news was encouraging, and largely a result of the diligent efforts of Rosemont residents in reporting even suspicious activities to help keep problems at bay. We were informed that a new welcome to Rosemont monument sign is to be installed and unveiled later this month at Bradshaw and Kiefer, part of our efforts to make the Rosemont community better known. RCA is working with Supv. Nottoli on scheduling a neighborhood cleanup day in the fall, likely in the east side of Rosemont. The board voted unanimously to write the California Public Utilities Commission protesting CalAm Water’s latest effort to extract more money from its rate payers here. The board discussed further projects under the several grants we’ve received; a small portion will help more people know about RCA and support our Little League program by having RCA signage on their fences. We also endorse the March 10 food drive being conducted by all our Scout groups; please give generously! Plans were refined for upcoming food truck events, the annual meeting on May 8, and the nominating process for filling Board vacancies.
