Usually Santa goes around giving toys away, but in Rosemont, known for its generosity, Santa led our annual toy drive and help collect several trucks full of new toys for local needy children. Thanks to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, Santa rode in RCA’s annual Santa parade in style on an their old-time engine/sleigh, and brought joy to kids young and old on Monday and Tuesday, December 5 & 6. The first evening the parade wound its way through neighborhoods south of Kiefer, and on Tuesday its route was north of Kiefer. There it stopped at Rosemont Community Park and at the decorated home on South Port Dr. to collect more toys and cheer the crowds. This holiday tradition goes back decades, and now parents who were raised in Rosemont and remember the Santa parade bring their children out to continue these happy holiday memories. Our thanks to all who helped make the fun event a success, especially the crews of Stations 54 and 62 of our Fire District, and Liz Lott and Dee Galvaldon who were the coordinators of it. And of course we are grateful to Santa who managed to squeeze Rosemont into his busy schedule again this year.
I would like to tank everyone involved that made this possible. For a quick video and a map to Lighted Christmas homes in Rosemont, please feel free to visit Rosemontlights.com/blog/christmas-light-map/. We are adding more and more each day.
Thanks & Merry Christmas
