RCA held its annual Santa Parade and Toy Drive the evenings of December 5 & 6 to the delight of kids of all ages. In our usual reversal of theme, the parade served as an opportunity of the good people of Rosemont to donate new toys as part of the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department Toy Drive. All the toys collected during both nights of the parade were given to the SSD to benefit kids in this area. This event has become a wonderful tradition here, and was revived over five years ago after a hiatus of a few years. Before that it had been a regular community event, and now many parents here tell their kids about growing up in Rosemont and looking forward to Santa coming by on a fire truck. He still does, this year on the antique truck from the old Rio Linda Fire Department, escorted by our own Sac Metro Fire trucks here in Rosemont. RCA extends it appreciation to all in Sac Metro FD and all the volunteers who made this year’s parades a success – particularly all who donated the toys.
