At this time of year when so many of us have lots of decorations around, be sure to take extra cautions that they are safe, especially if lights are involved. Be sure any bulbs that cause heat are safely away from any combustibles, that your Christmas tree always has water to help it last longer, and that all your decorations are stable and secured and can’t easily be knocked over and hurt someone. If you tree begins to dry up, be sure to remove it promptly so it is not a big fire hazard in hour house. Of course, be extra careful with candles, whether on your dinner table (where they can ignite napkins and other decorations) or anywhere around greenery that can easily ignite. Caution little children to stay away from any candles or other dangers your décor may present. A little caution in advance can prevent sad disasters and spoiled holidays.
