sheriff badge praphicRosemont’s POP Officer, Deputy Ralph Garcia, briefed the RCA Board and meeting attendees at the January 7 meeting on recent law enforcement activities here. Fortunately, our community has been relatively quiet, and most of those activities that happened here were by persons from outside the area who acted or got caught here. He reported that Rosemont has been one of the quieter areas recently. Even cases of graffiti have been few, after one tagger was dealt with. Most importantly, Dep. Garcia reminded all of the importance of reporting any suspicious or active criminal activities. If it is an active crime or a life threatening incident here call 874-5111 which is the direct line to the Sheriff’s dispatch and is faster than calling 911 here. If it is not life threatening or an inactive crime call 874-5115. In all cases provide the location of the incident, a description of what the problem is and who is involved, and your contact information for the SSD to follow up. Do all of this BEFORE you post anything to Facebook or Next Door (and in those posts note that you have already report to law enforcement. As Dep. Garcia said, it takes all of us to be vigilant and help law enforcement know what is happening.
