This year RCA received a record number of applications for our community service scholarship which we give to a graduating high school senior who lives in Rosemont. In fact, the applicants were so impressive we decided to give not just one scholarship, but three! Because of frugal practices and a bit of grant funding, RCA was able to give two $1,000 grants, plus one more $500 grant that was generously personally funded by a Rosemont resident. The winners are Sophia Kut, Kaitlin Raymond, and Phillip Kim.
Besides academic merit, the prime criteria for giving the scholarship is community service work the student has done. The funds are deposited to the student’s account at the school the winner will attend and can be used for tuition, books, etc. Our congratulations to all our winners, and we look forward to another group of great applicants next year. If you know of a deserving senior living in Rosemont, be sure he or she applies in 2019. To learn more about the winners and read their essays click 2018 Rosemont Scholarship Winners.
