Our hearts and prayers are with the family and friends of the man who was killed in a home invasion early this morning in our Rosemont community on Goldilocks Way. Below is the Sac County Sheriff’s official press release on this horrible event:
A little before 1:45 a.m. on June 22, 2016, the Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a male that was shot in the 9000 block of Goldilocks Way in Sacramento.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and contacted a 64 year old male victim inside a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Deputies immediately began life saving measures. Sacramento Metro Fire responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
A resident returned home, and was approached by four armed suspects at the front door. The suspects forced their way into the house and told the resident to get on the ground. As the suspects continued into the house, they were confronted by the 64 year old victim. One of the suspects fired his weapon, striking the victim in the upper torso. The suspects fled the scene in two or three vehicles of unknown description. The suspects were described as four black male adults, 18-25 years of age, wearing hooded sweatshirts over their heads. It is unknown at this time why this residence was targeted.
The identity of the victim in this case will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office, after notification has been made to his next of kin.
