yard cleanupWe fully understand the need to cut back on lawn watering, and commend those who have done so in the effort to conserve water. But that is no excuse to let the yard go to weeds, especially un-mowed weeds. Or even more, it is no excuse to use yards as storage areas (dumping grounds?) for old furniture, boxes, car parts, and anything else that does not belong in a front yard. If this describes your yard, PLEASE CLEAN IT UP NOW! If it describes a neighbor’s yard, we’re sure you’d like to see it cleaned up now. Maybe there is something you can do, like leave a short, polite note at the house calling their attention to the concern and requesting they mow or do some cleanup. If the offending yard is especially bad, it may be a code violation that deserves County attention. You can go to www.311.saccounty.net and see if there is a violation or report it to the County for action. Unfortunately, RCA has no legal authority to act beyond what you as an individual citizen has, so it takes action by you to start the corrective process.
