At RCA’s June Monthly Board Meeting, high school senior Thadeus Kim was awarded the Carol Arbini-McFarland Rosemont Community Service Scholarship for 2026. This $1,500 award is presented annually to a graduating high school senior residing in Rosemont who exhibits a commitment to community service, strong leadership skills, and academic achievement.
Thadeus participated in a Best Buddies Club, donating one hour a week for two years, developing friendships and connections with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He has also spent countless weekends cooking and serving meals to the unhoused through the Fishers of Men organization, and provided more than 200 hours of service to our local Sacramento Korean Presbyterian Church as a teacher’s assistant.
While a student at West Campus High School, Thadeus achieved a cumulative GPA of 4.5. He has participated in the Associated Student Body all four years, where he coordinated the activities for more than 80 school clubs, and served two years as treasurer. He was president of the Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement Club and a member of the Mathletes and United Nation’s clubs.
Thadeus plans to attend Brown University in the fall to major in engineering and physics. We wish him all the success in the world and thank him for being an upstanding young member of our Rosemont community.
